Paper wrote about Queen Arwa University cultural
week

The Queen Arwa University (QAU) in Sana’a is
preparing for its Ninth Cultural Week, scheduled for
the end of May.
The week will be called ‘Tourism is a National Wealth’. Work at the QAU is a
full swing, and the cultural week will coincide with the celebration of the
national day, the 16th anniversary of the May 22 unification of
Yemen.
During the week, the university
will celebrate the graduation of batches of students from different colleges.
The cultural week will include
many activities in the field of culture and sports. There will be sport
competition, poetry reading and theatrical performances that will help in
discovering the students’ talents in creative activities.
The week will have sections for
several Arabian embassies and a section for Yemeni heritage. This is aimed at
introducing Yemeni culture to young people and also to promote tourism in the
same way. This cultural week is also coinciding with the year 2006 as a ‘year of
tourism’
The QAU wants this week to
promote tourism in Yemen and to show people the potential that Yemen has for
tourism.
It will also draw the attention
of people in charge to the very important industry of tourism, which can give
country tremendous revenues.
The week will also include
competitions in the chess, soccer and basketball. There will also be a lottery. |
